« Capital Games », the video
games cluster from Paris & Ile-de-France
Founded in december 2003, by Frédéric
Weil independant video games producer and a dozen of video
games studio based in Paris and its area, the 1901 law
association « Capital Games » has a global
target :
Alert local public organisms and politics
around the video games industry identified in Paris has
a promising and a potentialy thriving industry creating
wealth and employment. And reach the goal that Paris and
its area become one of the two or three french know-how
hotspots in terms of video games production.
"Local Productive
Systems", italian industrial ditricts, anglo-saxon
clusters . Several names for the same reality : an efficient
organization mode for SME
"SPL", "industrial districts", "clusters",
notions applied to local economical development experiences,
cover all the following main points (with sometimes some
slight differences) :
- a concentration of SME on a geographycally limited territory
determined by themselves,
- specialized in a specific field, around a specific know-how
or a product
- competitors or complementary
- having the option to be supported by an animation strucutre
and associating the other actors of this territory
For the Datar, the SPL notion covers
:
"a specific productive organization localized on
a territory related to an employement area. This organization
works like an inter-dependant network made of productive
units having similar or complementary activities which
share the work (production or services companies, research
centers, training centers, technological transfert and
watching, etc.)".
